The ring’s gold tone is accomplished using physical vapour deposition in which titanium nitride is superheated to its plasma state and shot at the ring’s surface inside a vacuum chamber. Sounds awesome, right? The result is a super-thin ceramic layer that’s attached to the ring on a molecular level. This makes it ultra-durable, scratch resistant, and means it’ll never flake off like plating tends to do.
